Solving Waste & Recycling Problems
We offer a multitude of capabilities in waste management, both liquid and solid, in bulk or containerized:
Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Wastewater Treatment
We are fully committed to the environmental services industry and have two reception facilities in the Houston market, Bayport and Bay Park. Both facilities maintain solid waste permits from the TCEQ to receive, treat and process non-hazardous and RCRA hazardous materials. Both facilities and located in a heavy industrial complex with direct discharge to Gulf Coast Authority (GCA) – an industrial POTW.
Bayport is 2.5-acre site located in the Bayport Industrial Complex in Pasadena, TX. and is a permitted EPA Centralized Waste Treatment (CWT) facility. The site utilizes highly automated chemical injection and state-of-the-art dissolved air flotation followed by a filter press. Our pretreatment system is designed to accept wastewaters with varying levels of pH, organics, solids or metals. We segregate incoming wastewater into subcategories A (metals), B (oils) and C (organics).
We are well equipped to handle wastewater containing high solids through our stainless-steel solids handling unit (SHU). We can separate heavy solids from wastewaters generated from sumps, below-ground pits or manufacturing processes. These wastes may have up to 60% solids and flow easily through our system. The water phase is separated and sent through the appropriate treatment system and the residual solids will be sent first through a filter press and then to final landfill disposal.
Recovery of valuable oils/fuels and used oil helps conserve our precious resources. We designed our facilities to handle the most difficult oil/fuel reclamation streams. The Bayport site is equipped with large heated emulsion tanks for easy gravity separation. The difficult to break emulsions are super-heated with live steam, injected with specialty de-emulsifiers and sent to our centrifuge for solids removal. The oil/water mixture cools in large storage tanks for phase separation. Bayport recovers over 3MM gallons of oil/fuel and used oil per year.
Storage is never an issue as the Bayport plant boast over 775,000 gallons of storage while in a concrete containment which eliminates the risk of ground contamination. In fact, the entire processing site and truck unloading stations are part of the containment system. All rainwater and facility washings are treated in our process and are never discharged as stormwater. We can accept shipments by bulk tanker, railcar, tote, drum, and vacuum box.
Bay Park is a 7-acre site located in the Bayport Industrial Complex in Pasadena, TX. and is a permitted EPA Centralized Waste Treatment (CWT) facility, maintains a RCRA Part B permit and can handle CRCLA wastes as well. The site utilizes chemical injection and clarification followed by a filter press. Our pretreatment system is designed to accept wastewaters with varying levels of pH, organics, solids or metals. We segregate incoming wastewater into subcategories A (metals), B (oils) and C (organics).
Bay Park utilizes many of the same processes to handle wastewaters as Bayport; however, Bay Park is unique as it boasts a state-of-the-art fully permitted RCRA Part B warehouse capable of storing over 3,000 drums equivalent units. This warehouse was built with all the modern-day safety and environmental compliance features in mind. Eight truck bays for efficient shipping and receiving giving us plenty of capacity to minimize transporter turnaround times. All RCRA and non-hazardous industrial waste except for radioactive, PCB-containing, explosive, dioxin-containing, municipal garbage or special waste from health care facilities are authorized for storage and treatment within the current permit. It is easier for us to tell you what we cannot accept but below is a brief list of materials that can be accepted:
- Oily sludge/solids
- Halogenated solvents/organics
- Halogenated sludge, bottoms, and liquids
- Non-halogenated solvents/organics
- Non-halogenated sludge, bottoms, and liquids
- Resins, latex, monomer, and plastics
- Ink, dye, paint solvents, liquids/sludges
- Off-specification, aged, or discarded organics
- Lab waste
- Aqueous mixtures containing organics
- Dirt contaminated with organics
- Bio-sludge, water treatment sludge, etc.
- Gas cylinders
- Reactive materials
- Heavy metal/inorganic contaminated materials
- Non-hazardous industrial wastes
We will come to your location to identify and properly package the waste in our containers. We will label and manifest all materials along with transport the waste package to our facility. We can accept shipments by bulk tanker, railcar, tote, drum and vacuum box.
We can manage a variety of wastes, everything from nonhazardous to hazardous or solids to liquids. Whatever the type or characteristic of the waste, we can help you with a waste disposal or waste recycling plan.
Hazardous waste disposal and universal waste disposal can be handled by our team of waste management specialists that have many years of experience handling hazardous and universal waste disposal. With one phone call our team can help you with profiling, manifesting, placarding, labeling, and transportation of all your waste disposal needs. If Intergulf is not able to manage your waste stream at our plant, we can utilize one of our many approved third-party disposal facilities. We can help our customers manage wastes in a responsible, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Lab packs are what we do. Intergulf's personnel have many years of experience in categorizing, inventorying and packing of lab packs. We pride ourselves on being thorough, accurate, conservative and responsible when managing lab pack projects.
On-site services can be offer by furnishing a full-time or part-time technician on your site to manage your wastes and residual materials. Intergulf takes a unique approach to managing these in-plant services. Most in-plant service providers strive to feed their own associated asset (incinerator, landfill, etc.), but Intergulf's goal is to provide you with the option that best matches your philosophy. Our options are recycling, incineration, landfill disposal, wastewater treatment, deep well injection, fuel blending or reclassification, all according to your objectives. We promise that you will have efficiency improvements or cost savings as a result of our experience and wide breadth of options.
